Ways to Give

Using your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) is a smart and meaningful way to support local students while potentially reducing your tax burden.

If you're 70½ or older and have a traditional IRA, you can direct all or part of your RMD to RCSF as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).

✅ Why Give Through Your RMD?

• Avoid income taxes on the amount you donate

• If you are 73 or older you can satisfy all or part of your RMD for the year 

• Support local students in the Redlands Unified School District as they pursue college or career training

• Give simply and directly—no itemizing required

 

📝 How to Make a QCD to RCSF

Step 1: Contact your IRA plan administrator and ask them to make a direct transfer from your IRA to RCSF.

Step 3: Notify Us
Some administrators don't include your name with the transfer. Please let us know your gift is on the way so we may document your gift and thank you promptly. 

 

💡 Important Notes

• In 2025, the maximum QCD amount is $108,000 per year per individual

• You must be at least 70½ years old to qualify
